The area around Montelparo is extremely picturesque - being reminiscent of the type of terrain more closely associated with Tuscany than the rugged landscapes of Abruzzo to the immediate south. The hilltop villages and wooded valleys set against the backdrop of the Sibillini mountains forever draw the eye as the images change with the changing light and the seasons. The land is extremely fertile and the slopes up and down which the farm vehicles struggle in order to extract all that can be extracted given the difficulties imposed by the terrain are a constant source of wonder and the range of crops in the fields lends a pleasing texture to the hills and undulations.
